The Wolfhound Network

*RING RING* ---Yawn--I wonder who that could be...."WOLFHOUND ADOPTION AGENCY....GUINNESS SPEAKING..."

Guinness buddy! It's Liam from further up the Valley...look, I know we haven't met, but our moms have e-mailed....

...I really need a favor. I am bored out of my mind. Got any cute little girls on file for adoption?

Hmmm...let me go through my records. Well, here is a pretty little pup named Finn! Her mom found my blog and really needed help finding the best place for this sweet girl. I'll send her right over!

Ah! Thanks Guinness! That is much better!

Salt and Pepper are meant to be together don't you think?

Natacha

Hi, it is Saige. Look at this picture of my next door neighbour Natacha when we were both pups. She was 8. And I was 8 months.

Often on Saturday mornings, she would come over in her PJ's. She would play, and color, and make cookie dough. Sometimes she would bring her little dog Brady.

And sometimes she would bring her friend Bailey!

Now she is 11 and all grown up. But her family is moving far away. And our human mother might see Natacha again someday--but we never will. So now she is coming to say goodbye.

* SOB*

Goodbye Natacha. Be a good girl. We love you.

Fencing

Hi! I am trying to find my Dad. He is out fixing these fences.

Oh! There he is! He had his ear protection on...so he did not hear us calling.

Our mom says he only wears that so he doesn't have to listen to her...which is kind of true.

Our Dad has to check his whole fence line and make it good and sturdy.

Now that Spring is coming the cows can be let out to pasture... and they have to stay off that Highway.

How is it looking to you Guinness?

Good thing we are here to keep and eye on things...

And keep Dad company...so he doesn't have to wear those ear thingies!

Nanny Guinness

Guinness here. On Easter morning I peaked in the nursing pen and look what I found!

Uh oh...this is the smallest calf I have ever seen. He is so frail and weak. His mother has rejected him...so he hasn't nursed.

Gramps comes over to help. He is a farmer from way back, he knows what to do.

The little calf won't suckle...

...and he can't stand up very good either.

So he has to be fed through a tube instead. That tube goes down his throat and into his tummy. It does not hurt the calf at all.

Then I lick the calf down to try and stimulate him. I have always been good like this with the new calves. Sometimes people call me Nanny Guinness, because I have good nurturing skills.

I lick his ears and his neck and his face. Poor sweet calf.

It's OK little buddy.

PROGRESS

Look! We got to the farm for our afternoon walk and look who we see way down in the field! It's Groucho! See him?? Hang on! Here we come Groucho!

WHOA! Look at that dude go! He has turned into some kind of elite-conehead-alien-flying- athlete!

You know, he really is a swell little guy...and he is pretty cute, no one can deny him that....

...and we don't MEAN to make fun of him all the time...it's just that, well, he is so quirky and strange...and he talks to dead things!
